Bublitschki
Music Uli Hooves, Lyrics Yakov Jadow
Singers The Barry Sisters

The Russian song Bublitschki(English), "Бублички" (Russian) translated, are pretzels or bagels . In 1922, it was written in the Russian languages by Yakov Jadow from Odessa (Ukraine). In that same year, it was translated to Yiddish. I found that the composer could be Uli Hooves, but it has not been proven.
Bublitchki (bagels) was a very popular baked food (the same as in New York) . The Bagels Vendor would advertise bagels with loud voices at their stations. The song and the melody became so common during the NEP time in Bolshevik Russia, that later it was written into the Russian language with different wording. Bublitschki became widespread in the USA in 1939 when the Ziggy Elman Orchestra along with the Barry Sisters started to perform at the Theaters.
The lyrics of the song has been translated to many languages such Spanish, Argentina, Germany, and France ...etc.. This version became a success mainly due to the Barry Sisters .
